Having a hobby is a great way of using your free time by doing something useful and better. The best part about hobbies is that, they are enjoyable and allow you do what you like. Maybe, you always wanted to design a mini airplane or a rocket. Maybe you wanted to play basketball like Michael Jordan. Whatever the hobby, they give you the perfect opportunity to develop your creativity, competitive nature, and expand your horizon.

It gives your life meaning and purpose

Having a hobby gives you a sense of meaning and purpose. Depending on the free time you have, you can plan it out. It could be weekly, once in a fortnight, or monthly. Just plan it out with your son or daughter. Research has shown that people who have a meaning in life live longer.

Think about it. When was the last time, you used your leisure time wisely. You would have most probably slept or watched a movie.
